What you will learn
You will study the technologies that power a low-carbon economy. You will cover solar thermal and photovoltaic systems, wind energy generation, and modern energy storage solutions. You will also learn how to integrate these sources into smart grids and how hydrogen production and fuel cells fit into the larger energy picture. Classes mix classroom theory with lab work, so you will graduate ready to work with real equipment and industry data.
How the program runs
This is a full-time program that runs for one year across two or three terms. All classes and labs are held at the Benchlands Campus. You will take ten courses, including POWR 5110 Solar Thermal Systems, POWR 5540 Wind Energy Technology, POWR 5560 Energy Storage Solutions, POWR 5720 Hydrogen Production Methods, POWR 5970 Smart Grid Integration, PROC 5180 Solar Energy Technologies, PROC 5510 Wind Power Systems, PROC 5880 Energy Storage Solutions, PROC 5910 Hydrogen Fuel Cells, and PROC 5970 Renewable Energy Integration.
