What you will learn
In this program, you will study how electronic systems work in modern industry. You will learn to build and test circuits, program microcontrollers, and set up industrial automation equipment. Your classes mix classroom theory with hands-on work in the electronics labs in the Escarpment Building on Benchlands Campus. You will explore analog and digital circuit design, signal processing, and control systems. You will also learn how to write clear technical reports and communicate effectively in professional settings. By the end of the program, you will be ready to install, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic systems used in manufacturing, power generation, and process control.
How the program runs
This is a full-time program that runs over four terms, or two years. Classes start in September each year. You will spend most of your time on the Benchlands Campus. Your schedule will include lectures, lab sessions, and group projects. You will use industry-standard tools and test equipment to complete practical assignments. The program does not include a co-op work term, but you will graduate with a strong portfolio of lab work and technical skills that employers value.
Admission
To enter this program, you need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or an equivalent qualification. You must have completed Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. You also need Grade 12 Math (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. If you are an international applicant, you must provide proof of English proficiency. Students who are 19 years old or older by the start of classes may apply as a mature student.
Tuition and fees
Domestic tuition is $4,110 per year for the 2026–27 academic year. International tuition is $17,600 per year. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year, which cover services like the library, student association, and health centre. Tuition and fees are due before the start of each term. Visit Tuition & Fees for payment dates and options.
After you graduate
Graduates of the Electronics Engineering Technician program find work in a range of technical roles. You may work as an electronics technician, control systems technician, automation technician, field service technician, or quality control technician. Employers in manufacturing, energy, water treatment, and technology sectors hire our graduates to build, test, and maintain electronic equipment and automated systems.
How to apply
Domestic applicants submit their application through the provincial college application service. International applicants use the polytechnic's own online form. You can upload your documents and check your application status in the myWrenford student portal. Visit How to apply for detailed steps and deadlines.
