Introduction to inventory control, scheduling methods, and workflow optimization in manufacturing settings.
About this course
Production Planning Basics introduces the core concepts needed to keep a manufacturing floor running smoothly. You will learn how to manage inventory, create realistic production schedules, and optimize workflows to meet deadlines without wasting resources. The course focuses on practical methods used in modern shops and plants.
You will work through case studies that mimic real manufacturing environments. You will practice calculating material requirements, setting reorder points, and sequencing jobs based on priority. By the end of the term, you will be able to identify bottlenecks and suggest practical adjustments to improve efficiency.
