Program Description

Circuit analysis, AC and DC theory, and basic electronics designed for mechanical engineering technology students.

About this course

MECH 2470 Electrical Fundamentals provides the core electrical knowledge required for mechanical engineering technology. You will study circuit analysis, alternating and direct current theory, and basic electronics. The course prepares you to work with the electrical systems found in modern mechanical equipment.

You will analyse circuits using Kirchhoff's laws and network theorems. You will also calculate voltage, current, resistance, and power in various configurations. Laboratory sessions let you apply these concepts using standard test equipment.
