Program Description
Selection, integration, and calibration of devices for automated robotic systems.
Course overview
This course explores the hardware behind automated robotic systems. You will learn how to choose the right sensors and actuators for a given task, integrate them into a control loop, and calibrate them for precision. The focus is on practical application, signal conditioning, and troubleshooting in industrial settings.
Building on concepts from robotics kinematics, you will work with a variety of devices including encoders, accelerometers, pressure sensors, and servo motors. Labs involve wiring, calibration routines, and data validation.
