Courses

What you will learn

In this program, you will study how electrical power moves through buildings, factories, and city grids. You will learn to read complex blueprints, test circuits, and program control systems that keep modern industry running. Working in our labs at the Tamarack Building and the Escarpment Building, you will handle real equipment used in manufacturing, energy, and facilities management. You will also develop strong technical writing and communication skills so you can explain your work clearly to engineers, managers, and clients.

How the program runs

This part-time track follows the exact same curriculum as our full-time Electrical Engineering Technology program, but the schedule is built for working adults and busy students. Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends at the Benchlands Campus. You will complete the program over six terms across three years, taking one or two courses each term. The September intake is the only start date, so you will move through the sequence with the same cohort every year.

Admission

Tuition and fees

Domestic tuition is $4,260 per year for the 2026–27 academic year. You will also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year, which cover your student association, library access, and campus recreation. These fees are separate from tuition and are due each term. International students pay $17,600 per year. Financial aid and payment plans are available through Student Financial Aid.

After you graduate

Graduates of this program step into roles that require both technical precision and practical problem-solving. Employers in the energy, manufacturing, and construction sectors hire our graduates to maintain and upgrade critical electrical infrastructure. You will be prepared for careers as an electrical technician, power systems specialist, industrial controls programmer, maintenance technician, field service engineer, or commissioning technician. Many of our alumni move into supervisory positions within five years because of the strong foundation in management communication you build during the program.

How to apply

Domestic applicants submit their application through the provincial college application service. International applicants use Wrenford Polytechnic's own online form. You do not need to pay an application fee. Once you receive your offer, you will upload your final transcripts and proof of English proficiency to the student portal. Visit the Admissions page for a full checklist of documents, or contact the Registrar's office for questions about transfer credit or prior learning assessment.
