Program Description

Design and maintenance of sewer networks, lift stations, and stormwater management infrastructure.

Course overview

This course covers the principles behind wastewater collection systems, from household connections to main trunk lines. You will learn how to design pipe networks that move wastewater efficiently while managing flow rates and slopes. The course also looks at lift stations, including pump selection, control systems, and maintenance needs.

Stormwater management is a key part of the curriculum. You will study how to design infrastructure that handles rainwater runoff, reduces flooding risks, and meets environmental standards. Field inspections and case studies will help you understand how these systems work in real communities.

Who takes this course
