What you will learn
Public Relations & Communications is designed to give you the practical skills needed to manage information flow for organisations. You will study how to write press releases, draft internal newsletters, and develop media strategies that reach the right audience. The curriculum covers both traditional media channels and modern digital platforms, ensuring you understand where and how to place your message. You will also learn how to anticipate public concerns and prepare responses that protect an organisation's reputation.
Throughout the program, you will work on simulated campaigns and case studies that mirror real-world scenarios. You will practise evaluating media coverage, measuring audience engagement, and adjusting tactics based on feedback. The program emphasises ethical decision-making, so you will explore the legal and professional standards that guide responsible communications in Canada. By the end of your studies, you will have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to communicate clearly under pressure.
How the program runs
The Public Relations & Communications program is delivered full-time at the Mercer Street Campus. Classes begin in September, and you will complete the program in one year across two or three terms, depending on the final project schedule. You will attend lectures, participate in studio workshops, and complete group assignments that require you to collaborate with peers from other disciplines. The program includes nine courses, each worth three credits, for a total of 27 credits.
The Mercer Street Campus is located in the heart of downtown Wrenford. You will spend most of your time in the Market Square Studios, where you will have access to recording equipment, editing software, and a dedicated sound stage for production work. The downtown location places you within walking distance of transit terminals and municipal parking, making it easy to commute from across the city.

International applicants must submit an equivalent secondary diploma and provide proof of English proficiency through an accepted test or equivalent academic history. All applicants must have completed Grade 12 English (C or U) with a minimum grade of 60%. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and seats are filled in the order they are received.
Tuition and fees
2024–25 tuition: $4,380 per year (domestic). This amount covers your registration for all nine courses in the program. Ancillary fees total $1,125 per year and cover student association membership, health and dental plans, and access to campus facilities. You must pay your tuition and ancillary fees before classes begin. If you need a payment plan, you can arrange one through Student Financial Aid before your first term starts.
After you graduate
Graduates of the Public Relations & Communications program are prepared to enter the workforce immediately. Employers in the City of Wrenford and across the province hire our alumni as communications coordinators, media relations specialists, and public relations consultants. Many graduates find roles in government departments, non-profit organisations, and private sector marketing agencies. Because the program covers both strategic planning and hands-on production, you can also pursue positions in digital content strategy, internal communications, or crisis communications. Some graduates choose to continue their education by applying to undergraduate degree programs in marketing, journalism, or public administration.
