Tutoring program FAQ
Wrenford Polytechnic offers free tutoring to all enrolled students. You can get help with core subjects, lab work, and writing assignments. This page answers common questions about eligibility, how to book a session, and how to prepare.
Who is eligible for tutoring?
Any student currently enrolled in a full-time, part-time, or online program at Wrenford Polytechnic can use the tutoring service. You do not need a minimum grade to book a session. The service is open to everyone in the Learning Commons & Tutoring office on the Benchlands Campus.
How do I book a tutoring session?
You can book a one-on-one tutoring session or a group tutoring room online through myWrenford. Visit Book a tutoring session to select your subject, choose a tutor, and pick a time slot. Group bookings require at least three students and should be requested through Book a group tutoring room.
Are there limits on how many sessions I can take?
There is no set limit on the number of sessions you can book per term. However, each session is typically 45 minutes. If you need ongoing support for a single course, we recommend booking weekly sessions rather than multiple sessions in one day. Tutors may pause bookings if a student has missed more than three appointments without cancelling 24 hours in advance.
What subjects do you cover?
Tutors are available for most first-year and second-year courses, including mathematics, sciences, computing, and writing. Tutors are trained in specific subjects, so booking early helps us match you with someone who has the right expertise. If your course is not listed, contact the Learning Commons & Tutoring office to request a new tutor.
How should I prepare for my session?
Bring your course outline, notes, textbooks, and any assignment or exam questions you want to discuss. Tutors will not complete your work for you, but they will help you understand concepts and review your drafts. Arriving with specific questions will make the most of your time.
What if I need an accommodation?
Students who require testing or tutoring accommodations must work with Accessibility Services. Once your accommodations are approved, you will receive a note to present at the tutoring desk. Visit Tutoring with an accommodation plan for full details on how to access supported sessions.
When are tutors available?
Tutoring hours match the Library hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and weekends 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during term time. During reading weeks and exam periods, extended hours may be available.
