What you will learn
You will learn how to manage construction projects from the first sketch to the final walkthrough. The program focuses on the practical skills employers look for, including project planning, site management, construction estimating, contract administration and quality assurance. You will study construction law, procurement strategies and safety management to ensure projects meet legal and industry standards. Communication is a key part of the program, so you will practice public speaking, interpersonal skills and technical reporting. You will also use technical mathematics and geospatial data analysis to solve real-world construction challenges.
How the program runs
The program is designed for working adults and career changers. Classes are held in the evenings and on weekends, allowing you to keep your job while you study. You will complete six terms over three years. All courses are delivered on the Benchlands Campus, with hands-on sessions taking place in the Kingfisher Building and the Tamarack Building. The program does not include a co-op work term, but the practical focus means you will graduate ready to step into a supervisory or management role on day one. Intakes are available in September, January and May.
