Attend a job fair

Find employers at a job fair

Wrenford Polytechnic hosts regular job fairs throughout the academic year. This is a calendar of on-campus and virtual recruitment events where students can meet potential employers. Whether you are looking for a co-op work term, a part-time job, or a full-time career after graduation, these events connect you directly with hiring managers and industry professionals.

Who should attend

  • Students in any program who need a work term as part of their curriculum.
  • Students seeking part-time employment while they study.
  • Recent graduates looking for their first full-time role in their field.

You do not need a specific major to attend. Employers come to these fairs to meet students from the School of Business & Media, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Computing & Academic Studies, and all other schools on campus.

How to prepare and attend

  1. Check the event calendar. Dates, times, and locations for all upcoming fairs are posted on the Co-op & Career Services portal. Some events are held in person at the Student Union Building or the Kestrel Centre, while others are virtual.
  2. Register in advance. Create a profile in myWrenford and sign up for the specific fair you want to attend. Registration usually closes 48 hours before the event.
  3. Prepare your materials. Bring printed copies of your resume. If you do not have one yet, book an appointment to prepare your resume with a career coach.
  4. Research the employers. Review the list of attending companies beforehand. Pick five or six that match your interests and write down questions to ask.
  5. Attend the fair. Dress in business casual attire. Bring a notebook to take notes. Introduce yourself, hand over your resume, and ask about the hiring process.

Fees and deadlines

There is no fee to register or attend a job fair. Registration for the event closes 48 hours before the start time. If you are a co-op student, remember that you must secure a placement and sign the co-op work term agreement at least 30 days before your term begins. Attending a job fair early in the term gives you the best chance to find a placement on time.
