What you can do
Get feedback on your resume before you apply for a co-op work term or a full-time job. Our career advisors can help you highlight the right skills, fix formatting issues, and match your experience to Canadian workplace standards. A clear resume helps you stand out when hiring managers review hundreds of applications.
What we cover
We provide Guidance on formatting and tailoring resumes for Canadian employers and co-op placements. During a session, you will work through these steps:
- Review your current layout and make sure contact details are correct
- Learn how to write strong action bullets for your work and volunteer history
- See how to adjust one resume for different job postings
- Check that your education, co-op terms, and technical skills are listed clearly
- Discuss how to handle gaps in employment or a lack of work experience
Who it is for
This service is open to all Wrenford Polytechnic students and recent graduates. You do not need to be in a co-op program to use it, but co-op students will find it especially useful before meeting a potential employer. International students can also get help translating Canadian workplace terms to their own experience.
How to get started
Book a career appointment through the student portal. Bring a draft of your resume and, if you have one, a job posting you are interested in. You can also bring your program outline so we can match your coursework to the role. Appointments are thirty minutes long and take place in person or online. You can also review our online guides for step-by-step instructions.
Fees and deadlines
There is no fee to use this service. All students enrolled in a certificate, diploma, or degree program can book unlimited sessions. We recommend booking at least two weeks before your co-op job search begins or before a major application deadline. Appointments fill quickly near term start dates, so plan ahead.
