Financial literacy resources

Workshops, guides, and tools for managing student budgets and credit

Managing your money while you study is a big part of college life. Our financial literacy resources are here to help you plan your spending, understand your student loans, and build good credit habits. You will find step-by-step guides, interactive calculators, and hands-on workshops designed for students at every stage of their program.

What you can access

  • Budgeting calculators: Use our online tools to map out your monthly income and expenses. You can track tuition payments, living costs, and textbook fees in one place.
  • Credit building guides: Learn how student lines of credit and credit cards work. Read our step-by-step breakdowns on payment dates, interest rates, and keeping your balance low.
  • Money management workshops: Join our monthly sessions on campus or online. You will learn how to set financial goals, avoid common debt traps, and make the most of your Ontario student financial assistance.
  • One-on-one advising: Book a private meeting with a financial wellness advisor. We will look at your aid package, help you understand your repayment timeline, and answer your questions.

How to get started

  1. Visit the Student Financial Aid office in Hollis Hall to pick up a printed budgeting workbook, or download it from the myWrenford portal.
  2. Log in to the Student Money Dashboard to run the budget calculator and see where your tuition is due.
  3. Check the campus events calendar to see which money management workshop is running this month. Sign up early, as seats fill up fast.
  4. Request a private advising slot through the myWrenford portal or by calling the main line. You can choose an in-person meeting at the Benchlands Campus or a video call.

Fees and deadlines

All financial literacy resources are free for current students. There is no charge to attend a workshop or meet with an advisor. We recommend booking your workshop or advising slot at least three business days in advance so we can match you with the right staff member. If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please give us twenty-four hours notice.

Where to find us

Our financial literacy team works out of the Student Financial Aid office in Hollis Hall. You can walk in during regular business hours, or send an email to share your questions ahead of time. We also run a monthly live Q&A on the myWrenford portal for students who cannot visit campus.
