Living in residence

Living on campus

Living in residence gives you a chance to be part of a supportive community while you focus on your studies. Wrenford Polytechnic offers two residence buildings on the Benchlands Campus: Larch House and Ashgrove House. Larch House has 420 traditional rooms, while Ashgrove House offers 310 beds in four-bedroom suites. Both buildings are located near the Kestrel Centre and the Falls Library & Learning Commons.

Who can apply

Residence is open to students enrolled in full-time programs. You do not need to be a first-year student to live on campus. Priority is given to students who complete their application by the deadline. You can apply through the Residence portal once you have been accepted into a program.

How to apply

Follow these steps to secure a room:

  1. Submit your program application through the provincial college application service.
  2. Once you receive your program acceptance letter, log in to the Residence portal.
  3. Complete the residence application form and select your preferred room type (traditional or suite).
  4. Applications open on February 1, 2027, for the fall term.
  5. Pay the required deposit to confirm your space.

If you need a roommate, you can submit a Roommate matching request through the portal before you apply.

Tuition and fees

Residence fees are separate from your program tuition. Ancillary fees are $1,125 per year and are billed alongside your tuition and residence costs.

  • Larch House (traditional room): $7,950 per academic year
  • Ashgrove House (suite): $9,100 per academic year
  • Meal plan: $4,600 per year (mandatory for Larch House students)

Meal plan credits are loaded onto your student account and can be used at the food hall in the Student Union Building.

Living rules and parking

All residents must follow the Residence code of conduct. This covers quiet hours, guest policies, and general building safety. If you need to move to a different room, you can submit a Request a room change through the portal. If you need to leave residence early, you must complete a Leave of absence from residence form.

Residence students are assigned parking in Lot C. A student parking permit is $210 per term. You can apply for your permit through the Parking office once your acceptance letter arrives. Visitor parking is available in designated areas near the buildings.

Move-in and move-out

Move-in dates are scheduled in the weeks before the fall term starts. Check the Move-in and move-out dates page for your assigned time slot. You will receive an email with your room assignment and check-in instructions one week before the term begins.
