What this service is for

Living in residence is a chance to meet new people and build a supportive home away from home. If you would like to be paired with a specific person or have us match you based on your habits and interests, you can submit a roommate matching request. This process covers submitting your preferences and completing the questionnaire to be paired with a compatible roommate.

Who can make a request

Any student who has been accepted into residence and paid their residence application fee can submit a request. You can ask to live with a friend who is also moving in, or you can leave the match blank and let the Residence Life team pair you with someone from the pool. You must submit your request before the deadline to guarantee a match before move-in day.

How to submit your preferences

We keep the process simple. Follow these steps to tell us what you are looking for in a roommate:

  1. Log in to the myWrenford student portal using your student number and password.
  2. Open the Residence section and select the roommate matching request form.
  3. Fill out the online roommate questionnaire. You will answer questions about your sleep schedule, study habits, cleanliness preferences, and guest policies.
  4. If you have a specific friend in mind, enter their full name and student number in the designated field. If you do not know anyone yet, leave the field blank and select the option to be matched automatically.
  5. Review your answers and submit the form. You will receive a confirmation email with a reference number.

What happens next

Our team reviews all submitted questionnaires to find the best possible matches. Requests are typically processed within five business days. Once a match is confirmed, you will receive an email with your new roommate's contact information and next steps for sharing living space expectations.

Fees and deadlines

There is no extra fee to use the roommate matching service. Your standard residence application covers the entire process. However, you must submit your request before the deadline. Requests submitted after the deadline will still be processed, but we cannot guarantee you will receive your first-choice match or a room assignment before move-in.

  • Deadline for the Fall 2027 term: May 15, 2027
  • Deadline for the Winter 2028 term: November 1, 2027
