Research & Innovation
You can get help with student research projects, industry partnerships, and applying for research grants through the Research & Innovation office. We work across all six schools to make sure your projects meet academic standards and ethical guidelines. Our goal is to help you turn classroom learning into practical solutions for employers and the community.
Student research support
Whether you are working on a capstone project, a co-op placement, or an independent study, our staff can help you find mentors, secure data, and navigate the review process. We also host workshops on research methods, data analysis, and academic writing. If you need help finding a supervisor or accessing lab equipment, stop by or send an email.
Industry partnerships
We connect students and faculty with local manufacturers, healthcare providers, and technology firms for applied research. If you have an idea for a project that solves a real-world problem, tell us about it. We will help you find a partner and draft a proposal. Our office also maintains a directory of active research projects across the Benchlands and Mercer Street campuses.
Funding and ethics
Students can apply for small grants to cover materials, fieldwork, or conference travel. All research involving human participants must go through the ethics review process. You will find the application forms, guidelines, and frequently asked questions in the sections below.
