What is citation help?
Writing assignments at Wrenford Polytechnic require you to give credit to the sources you use. Proper citation keeps your work honest and helps your readers find your references. The Learning Commons offers free guides and one-on-one help for the citation styles you will use in your courses.
What we cover
We provide guides and examples for APA, MLA, and Chicago citation formats used in assignments. You will find step-by-step instructions for in-text citations, reference lists, and bibliographies. If your program uses a different style, ask your tutor for help finding the correct rules.
Who can use this service
Any Wrenford Polytechnic student can use these resources. You do not need a specific grade or program to access the guides or book an appointment. The staff work with students across all schools, from the School of Skilled Trades & Transportation to the School of Health Sciences.
How to get started
- Visit the Learning Commons & Tutoring page to browse the citation guides.
- Choose the format your instructor requires. Most programs use APA or MLA. Engineering and technology programs often use Chicago or IEEE-style formats.
- If you need extra help, book a tutoring session through the Peer tutoring booking portal. You may book up to two tutoring sessions per week during the academic term.
- Bring your assignment prompt, your draft, and your reference list to the session. The tutor will review your formatting and show you how to fix common errors.
