Join an intramural league

Register for seasonal recreational sports leagues open to all students and staff. Intramural sports at Wrenford Polytechnic are a casual, friendly way to stay active, meet other students, and play on a team without the pressure of varsity competition. Leagues run during the Fall and Winter terms.

Who can play

Any current student or staff member at Wrenford Polytechnic can register. You do not need to be a varsity athlete. Leagues welcome beginners and experienced players alike. You can register as a full team, join a group of friends, or sign up as a free agent to be placed on a team with other individuals.

Leagues available

We offer indoor and outdoor leagues each term. Available sports change slightly based on the season and facility availability. Common leagues include:

  • 5-on-5 indoor basketball (Kestrel Centre gymnasium)
  • Co-ed volleyball (Kestrel Centre gymnasium)
  • 7-on-7 soccer (Kestrel Field, Benchlands Campus)
  • Co-ed badminton (Kestrel Centre gymnasium)

How to register

Registration is fully online through the Wrenford Poly student portal. Follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to the Student Association portal using your Wrenford Poly credentials.
  2. Navigate to the "Sports & Recreation" section and select "Intramural Registration".
  3. Choose your sport and league division (Recreational or Competitive).
  4. Create a new team or join an existing one. If you create a team, you will be assigned as the captain and can share a private registration code with your teammates.
  5. Enter your payment details to pay the registration fee.
  6. Once registered, you will receive an email confirmation with your schedule, court or field assignments, and referee contacts.

Fees and deadlines

There is a small fee for each league to cover facility rental and equipment. Fees must be paid at the time of registration.

  • Indoor leagues (basketball, volleyball, badminton): $25 per player
  • Outdoor leagues (soccer): $30 per player

Early registration opens on the first Monday of the term. The final deadline to join or form a team is two weeks before the season starts. Late registrations are not accepted once the season begins, except in cases of injury or medical emergency with a doctor's note.

Rules and expectations

All players must follow the Wrenford Poly athletics code of conduct. Respect for referees, opponents, and facilities is required. Any player ejected from a game or found violating the code will be suspended for the remainder of the season. Please review the Fitness centre rules and Kestrel Centre hours before your first game.
