The Mathematics & Sciences department provides core courses in math, physics, and chemistry for all programs at Wrenford Polytechnic.
About the department
The Mathematics & Sciences department supports students across every program at Wrenford Polytechnic. You will take courses in mathematics, physics, and chemistry whether you are studying computing, construction, energy, health sciences, or skilled trades. The department makes sure you have the quantitative and scientific foundation you need for your program and your career.
Who we are
Rebecca Thorne is the department chair. She works with a dedicated team of faculty members, including Ines Carvalho, Bernard Okafor, and Hyejin Park. Our instructors bring real-world experience into the classroom and focus on practical problem-solving. You will find them approachable and ready to help you succeed in challenging courses.
Facilities and resources
Department offices and classrooms are located in the Kingfisher Building on the Benchlands Campus. Students in engineering technology, environmental technology, and construction management programs often use the labs in the Escarpment Building for physics and chemistry work. All students can use the Falls Library & Learning Commons for research, tutoring, and quiet study space.
Supporting your program
Mathematics and science courses form the backbone of our technical programs. You will apply these subjects directly in your program courses, co-op work terms, and final projects. If you need extra help, visit the Learning Commons & Tutoring or speak with your program coordinator about course selection.
