Programming tools and scripts for automating geospatial data tasks.
About this course
This course introduces the programming concepts and tools used in modern geomatics practice. You will learn to write scripts that automate data processing, reducing the time spent on manual tasks. The focus is on practical application, using Python and common geospatial libraries to handle real-world data challenges.
You will also learn how to manage your code using version control, a standard practice in professional software development. By the end of the term, you will have built a portfolio of scripts that demonstrate your ability to solve geomatics problems through code.
Who takes this course
GEOM 2800 is an elective course. It is open to students in the Geomatics Technician program and other programs in the School of Construction & the Environment who have an interest in software development.
