Program Description
Applies statistical methods and probability theory to interpret data trends and validate hypotheses.
About this course
COMP 5370 Statistical Analysis for Data introduces the statistical methods and probability theory needed to interpret data trends and validate hypotheses. You will learn to move beyond simple data description and use statistical inference to draw conclusions from complex data sets.
The course covers probability distributions, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and correlation. You will use statistical software to perform analyses and interpret results in the context of business and technology applications. By the end of the course, you will be able to communicate statistical findings clearly in technical reports.
