Summary

The department teaches COMM and GNED subjects, supporting students with writing, ethics, and general education across all programs.

About the department

Communication & Liberal Studies teaches the subjects COMM and GNED. These subjects give students the writing, research, and critical thinking skills they need in their programs and in the workplace. The department runs general education courses that every student takes, as well as communication labs and seminars that focus on public speaking, interpersonal skills, and media literacy.

Programs and subjects

You will take COMM and GNED courses in the first year of most programs at Wrenford Polytechnic. The department offers courses that satisfy general education requirements for certificates, diplomas, and applied bachelor's degrees. You can find every course in the course catalogue or search the list of courses by subject.

Facilities and labs

Communication labs are located in the Kingfisher Building on the Benchlands Campus. These rooms hold the audio-visual equipment you need for recording presentations, editing media, and practicing public speaking. The department also uses classrooms in the Tamarack Building for large seminars and group work.

Meet the chair

The department is led by Kwame Asante, who serves as the chair. He works with faculty to make sure your courses match industry needs and that you build strong written and verbal communication skills. You can reach the chair through the department office.
