Submit a research proposal

What this service is for

Use this page to submit a new research project for internal review and approval. The review ensures your project meets Wrenford Polytechnic's standards for safety, ethics, and academic integrity. This applies to all research conducted by faculty, staff, and students using college resources or representing the college.

Who can submit

  • Faculty members and instructors
  • Research staff and post-doctoral fellows
  • Students working on a thesis, capstone, or independent study project
  • External partners collaborating with Wrenford Polytechnic personnel

How to submit your proposal

  1. Check your eligibility. Make sure your project falls within the scope of internal review. Course-based research that follows a standard departmental syllabus does not need a separate proposal.
  2. Prepare your documents. You will need a completed research proposal, a detailed safety plan, a project budget, and draft consent forms for all participants.
  3. Submit through the portal. Log in to myWrenford and navigate to the Research & Innovation section. Upload all files in PDF format. Each file must be under 20 megabytes.
  4. Review process. Proposals are triaged based on risk. Low-risk projects go through an expedited review. Projects involving human participants, sensitive data, or fieldwork require a full committee review.

What happens after submission

Once you submit, the office will confirm receipt within two business days. You will receive a decision letter outlining any required changes. Most proposals are approved with minor revisions. If significant changes are needed, you can resubmit the updated proposal within thirty days.

Deadlines and fees

There is no application fee to submit a research proposal. You must submit your proposal at least four weeks before your intended start date. Expedited reviews are processed within ten business days. Full committee reviews are scheduled monthly and take up to six weeks.
