Request an interlibrary loan

Request an interlibrary loan

If you need a book or journal article that Wrenford Polytechnic does not own, you can borrow it from another library through our interlibrary loan service. This process connects you with partner libraries across the province so you can continue your research without delay.

Who can use this service?

Interlibrary loan is available to all currently enrolled students, faculty members, and staff. You must have an active student account to place a request. If you are an alumni or community member, please check the borrowing guidelines for other options.

How to make a request

You can submit an interlibrary loan request through the library portal. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the myWrenford portal using your student credentials.
  2. Navigate to the Library section and select Interlibrary Loan from the services menu.
  3. Search the catalogue or enter the title, author, or DOI of the item you need.
  4. Choose your preferred format. You can request physical books to pick up at the circulation desk, or digital copies of journal articles and book chapters.
  5. Review your request details and click Submit. You will receive an email confirmation once the request is processed.

Delivery times and pickup

Physical items usually arrive within five to seven business days. Digital articles often arrive within one to three business days. When your item is ready, you will receive an email with instructions on how to collect it. Physical books can be picked up at the circulation desk in the Falls Library & Learning Commons on the Benchlands Campus. You must bring your student ID card when you collect any physical material.

Fees and deadlines

There is no fee to submit an interlibrary loan request for current students. If you request a physical book, you are responsible for returning it by the due date. Late returns may result in a hold on your library account until the item is returned. If you need an item sooner than the standard delivery time, contact us early so we can explore expedited options.

Contact the library

If you need help finding a specific title or have a question about a request, the library staff are ready to assist. You can reach us during regular business hours or drop by the circulation desk.
