International student FAQ

Visas and study permits

International applicants apply on the polytechnic's own form, not through the provincial college application service. Once you receive an offer of admission, you will need to apply for a study permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Bring your offer letter and proof of tuition payment to your appointment.

You must maintain full-time enrolment in your program to keep your study permit active. If your program includes a co-op work term, you will need a co-op work permit in addition to your study permit. Our international office can guide you through this process.

Tuition and fees

International tuition varies by credential. Ontario College Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs cost $17,600 per year. Graduate certificates cost $18,900 per year, and applied bachelor's degrees cost $21,400 per year. You must also pay ancillary fees of $1,125 per year.

Payment plans are available for domestic students only. International students must pay the full term amount by the due date. Tuition is due before classes start. If you miss a payment deadline, your registration will be cancelled.

Housing and daily life

Wrenford Polytechnic offers on-campus residence in Larch House and Ashgrove House. A traditional room in Larch House costs $7,950 per academic year. A four-bedroom suite in Ashgrove House costs $9,100 per year. Residence applications open on February 1, 2027. You must apply early, as spaces fill quickly.

If you live off campus, you must follow the City of Wrenford rental housing licensing rules. You can find the city bylaws on the Off-campus housing guide. You will also need to register your vehicle to drive on campus. Student parking permits cost $210 per term. You can manage your parking permit and vehicle registration in the myWrenford portal.

Health and safety

You must submit a Student Health Clearance Form before classes begin. The deadline is September 1, 2026 for the fall term, January 15, 2027 for winter, and May 1, 2027 for spring and summer. You can submit the form online through myWrenford.

The Health Centre is located on the Benchlands Campus. If you have an immunization question, call 519-555-0170, ext. 4090. You must carry valid health and travel insurance for the entire time you study in Canada. Contact Health and travel insurance for details.
