Electrolysis, reforming, and gasification techniques for sustainable hydrogen fuel generation.
About this course
Hydrogen is becoming a key part of the clean energy mix, and producing it sustainably is a major engineering challenge. In POWR 5720, you will look at the main ways to make hydrogen fuel. You will study steam methane reforming, water electrolysis, and biomass gasification. The course focuses on how these methods work, their environmental impact, and where they fit in a modern energy system.
You will learn to compare the efficiency and cost of each technique. You will also practice designing a small-scale production unit and writing safety reports. This course is designed for students who want to work in renewable energy or industrial process engineering.
