Processing, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
About this course
MRAD 3590 Histopathology Techniques covers the essential methods used to prepare tissue specimens for diagnosis. You will learn how to process, section, and stain biological samples so they can be examined under a microscope. The course combines classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory work in the School of Health Sciences simulation centre.
You will practice using tissue processors, embedding units, and microtomes. You will also learn how to evaluate specimen quality and maintain accurate records. These skills are required for anyone working in a diagnostic laboratory.
