Application of nucleic acid testing methods for genetic and infectious disease diagnosis.
About this course
Molecular diagnostics is transforming how we detect and manage disease. In MRAD 2880, you will learn to apply nucleic acid testing methods for genetic and infectious disease diagnosis. The course covers the entire testing workflow, from sample collection and nucleic acid extraction to amplification and data analysis.
You will work in the simulation centre at Corvid Hall, using industry-standard equipment to perform polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and real-time amplification protocols. The curriculum emphasizes accuracy, quality control, and the ethical handling of sensitive genetic information.
