Introduction to three-dimensional space, polygon modeling, texturing, and rendering for digital environments.
About this course
VIDP 2700 3D Modeling Basics introduces you to the core principles of creating three-dimensional content. You will learn how to build polygonal models, apply textures, and set up lighting for rendering. The course focuses on practical skills using industry-standard software, preparing you for more advanced digital media work.
You will work through a series of projects that increase in complexity. By the end of the term, you will have a portfolio-ready rendered scene that demonstrates your ability to model, texture, and light a 3D environment.
Who takes this course
This course is an elective for students in the Video & Broadcast Production program. It is also open to students in other Digital Media & Design programs who need a foundation in 3D content creation.
