Methods for evaluating material properties without damaging the component, including ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing.
Course overview
Non-destructive testing (NDT) allows technicians to evaluate the integrity of materials and components without causing damage. This course introduces the core methods used in the welding and fabrication industry to ensure structural safety and quality. You will learn how to detect surface and subsurface defects in metals using techniques such as magnetic particle and ultrasonic testing.
Through hands-on sessions in the Tamarack Building shops, you will practice setting up equipment, applying testing procedures, and interpreting indications. The course also covers how to document your findings in professional reports that meet industry standards.
