Program Description

Creation of interactive prototypes and user experience flows for digital applications and websites.

About this course

In this course, you will move beyond static designs to create functional interactive prototypes for websites and digital applications. You will learn how to translate visual concepts into navigable user experiences, focusing on the logic and flow that guides a user through a digital product. The course covers the full prototyping process, from initial wireframes to polished, interactive models that simulate the final application.

You will work with industry-standard prototyping tools to build interactive elements, manage states, and simulate user interactions. The course emphasises usability and user-centred design, requiring you to test your prototypes with peers and refine your designs based on feedback. By the end of the term, you will have a professional-quality interactive prototype to include in your portfolio.

Prerequisites

Learning outcomes

  • Construct low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity interactive prototypes using industry-standard design tools.
  • Map user experience flows to optimise navigation and task completion within digital applications.
  • Integrate interactive elements such as transitions, animations, and responsive behaviours into design mock-ups.
  • Conduct usability testing sessions with peers and document findings for iterative design improvements.
  • Present prototype solutions that align with project requirements and user research.
