Nominate a student for a merit award
Wrenford Polytechnic recognises outstanding students through its merit-based scholarship and bursary program. Faculty and staff can recommend students whose academic work, leadership, or campus involvement stands out. This page explains who can be nominated, how to submit a recommendation, and the deadlines you need to meet.
Who can nominate and who is eligible
Any faculty member, staff member, or student group leader at Wrenford Polytechnic may submit a nomination. The student being nominated must be enrolled in a full-time or part-time program and be in good academic standing. Nominations can be submitted for individual students or for a group of students working on a shared project or initiative. We encourage you to nominate students who have shown dedication to their studies and have contributed positively to the college community.
How to submit a nomination
Follow these steps to prepare and submit a nomination package:
- Review the award criteria. Visit the Scholarships & Bursaries page to see which merit awards are currently open and what each one recognises.
- Prepare the nomination package. Gather the student's name, program, student number, and a brief statement (150 to 250 words) explaining why the student deserves the award. Include any supporting documents, such as a grade transcript or a letter from a program chair.
- Submit the form. Complete the online nomination form through the college portal. Upload your statement and supporting files in PDF or Word format.
- Confirm receipt. You will receive an automated confirmation email. Keep this email for your records.
Deadlines and processing
Nominations for merit awards must be submitted by March 1, 2027 for consideration during the 2026 to 2027 academic year. This date aligns with the equal consideration application date for incoming students, but it also covers continuing students who have not yet received a merit award. Late nominations will be held until the next award cycle.
The selection committee reviews all submissions within ten business days of the deadline. Successful candidates will be notified by email in April 2027. Award funds are applied directly to the student's account through Student Financial Aid and will appear on their next statement.
