Entrance scholarships

What are entrance scholarships?

Entrance scholarships are one-time or renewable awards given to students who are entering Wrenford Polytechnic for the first time. They are based on your academic record and, in some cases, financial need. These awards help cover the cost of tuition and ancillary fees. The Student Financial Aid office reviews every eligible applicant each year.

Who is eligible?

You are eligible to apply if you are a domestic student entering a full-time program at Wrenford Polytechnic. You must be admitted to a program before you can receive an entrance scholarship. Mature students (19 years or older by the start of classes) are also eligible. You do not need a separate application form. The provincial college application service collects your grades automatically.

Important dates

The equal consideration date for fall entry is March 1, 2027. Students who apply by this date are reviewed first. Awards are announced in May 2027. If you apply after March 1, you may still be considered, but the most competitive awards are usually filled by the equal consideration date.

How the awards work

Scholarships are applied directly to your student account. You will see the credit on your myWrenford portal as soon as the office processes the award. If your scholarship covers more than your tuition, the remainder is refunded to you. There is no application fee to submit an application to Wrenford Polytechnic, and there is no extra charge to be considered for an entrance scholarship.

Available awards

Wrenford Polytechnic offers a range of entrance scholarships funded by donors and the institution. Major entrance scholarships provide up to $5,000 per year for four years. Regional and program-specific awards range from $500 to $2,000. The Student Financial Aid office publishes the full list of active awards each spring. You can view the current list on the Scholarships & Bursaries page.

External scholarships

You can also apply for scholarships from community groups, employers, and foundations outside the college. If you receive an external scholarship, you must report it to the Student Financial Aid office. External awards may affect your provincial student financial assistance or in-house bursaries. Review the How awards affect aid page for details.
