What this page covers
If you want to move from your current program to a different one, or change your major within a program, you can submit a program change request. This process applies to all full-time and part-time students at our Benchlands and Mercer Street campuses. You must complete the request before the add/drop deadline for the term you want to start in the new program.
Who can apply
You may be eligible to change your program if you meet the following requirements:
- You meet the admission criteria for the program you want to enter.
- There is seat availability in the new program.
- You are in good academic standing.
- You are in good financial standing.
- You are only eligible for one program change per academic year.
Some programs require departmental approval and may take longer to process. Certain programs also require you to complete a minimum period in your current program before a change is approved. Even if you meet all requirements, approval is not guaranteed.
Steps to change your program
- Review the new program. Check the academic calendar and program details to make sure the new program fits your schedule and goals.
- Submit the request. Log in to the myWrenford student portal and complete the Program Change Request form. You will need to select your current program, the new program, and the term you wish to start.
- Wait for approval. The Registrar's Office will review your application. You will receive a confirmation email once the request is processed. Processing usually takes up to ten business days.
- Attend academic advising. You must meet with an academic advisor in your new program before you can register for classes. A program change does not confirm your acceptance until advising is complete.
- Register for courses. Once you receive approval and complete advising, you can enroll in your new program's courses.
Fees and deadlines
There is no fee to submit a program change request. However, changing programs may affect your tuition and fees. Please review the tuition and fees page for details on how program changes impact your account balance. If you have outstanding balances, you must clear them before you can register for new courses.
Applications are not accepted after the add/drop deadline for the term. Late requests will be deferred to the next available term. If you need to know the exact deadline for your term, check the academic calendar or contact the Registrar's Office.
