Connect to the campus wireless network

Wrenford Polytechnic provides wireless internet across both the Benchlands and Mercer Street campuses. The secure network is free for students, faculty, and staff. You can use it in classrooms, the Falls Library & Learning Commons, the student union building, the Kestrel Centre, and most outdoor spaces.

Network options

  • Wrenford-Poly-Secure – This is the main network for students and staff. It uses your student credentials and gives you full access to course materials, the student portal, and library resources.
  • Wrenford-Guest – This open network is for visitors and guests. It does not require a password, but it has limited bandwidth and blocks access to the student portal and internal services.

How to connect

  1. Turn on the Wi-Fi on your device.
  2. Select Wrenford-Poly-Secure from the list of available networks.
  3. Open a web browser or use the built-in network settings to log in.
  4. Enter your student ID and your student password. If you use a mobile device, you may need to accept the acceptable use policy before the page loads.
  5. Once connected, you can access your courses and the internet.

Security and device limits

Wrenford Polytechnic allows up to three devices per student account. If you try to connect a fourth device, the first device you connected will be disconnected. Keep your student password private. Do not share your credentials with friends or family members. Using someone else's login can result in a loss of network access.

Guest network rules

The guest network is for short visits. You may stay connected for up to four hours at a time. If you need to stay longer, please switch to the secure network or use a personal mobile hotspot. The guest network does not support printing to campus printers or accessing the student portal.

Need help?

If you cannot connect, your password is not working, or you need to register a new device, contact the IT Service Desk. The desk is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can also visit the IT Service Desk in the Student Union Building or call the main line.
