Covers hydraulic system components, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques for mobile machinery.
Course overview
This course introduces the principles of hydraulics as applied to mobile machinery and heavy equipment. You will learn how hydraulic systems generate, control, and transmit power, and how to read the schematics that technicians use every day. The focus is on practical troubleshooting: identifying symptoms, testing components, and isolating faults in real-world systems.
You will work with hydraulic pumps, directional control valves, cylinders, and motors. The course covers fluid properties, filtration, and reservoir design, as well as safety procedures for working with high-pressure systems. Labs give you hands-on experience with diagnostic tools and test benches.
