Program Description

Advanced cost accumulation, allocation, and control techniques for manufacturing and service firms.

About this course

Cost Accounting Systems explores how manufacturing and service organizations track, accumulate, and control costs. You will move beyond basic financial reporting to examine the internal accounting systems that managers use for planning and decision-making. The course covers advanced cost accumulation techniques, including job-order, process, and activity-based costing, as well as methods for analysing variances and managing standard costs.

You will learn to apply cost-volume-profit analysis and evaluate the financial implications of outsourcing, capacity utilisation, and product mix. By the end of the term, you will be able to design cost control systems that support strategic business goals and improve operational efficiency.
