Report a food safety issue

Report a food safety issue

If you notice a problem with food in a Wrenford Polytechnic café, you can report it to Food Services. This page explains who can report, what counts as an issue, how to submit your concern, and what to expect during the review process.

Who can report

Any student, staff member, or visitor who has eaten at our cafés can submit a report. You do not need a student account or a meal plan to file a concern. We encourage everyone to speak up so we can keep our food safe.

What you can report

Submit a complaint or concern regarding hygiene, temperature, or foreign objects in food. This includes issues such as:

  • Food that is not stored or served at the correct temperature
  • Signs of poor hygiene or unsanitary preparation areas
  • Foreign objects found in prepared food
  • Missing or incorrect allergen labels on packaging
  • Food that appears spoiled or past its use-by date

How to report

Follow these steps to make sure your report is reviewed quickly and completely:

  1. Write down the date and time you ate the food.
  2. Note the café location (Benchlands Campus or Mercer Street Campus) and the specific outlet or serving line.
  3. Describe the issue clearly. Include details about what you ordered and what went wrong.
  4. If you have a photo of the problem, the packaging, or a receipt, attach it to your report.
  5. Submit your concern using the Food Services contact form or by calling our office directly.

Deadlines and fees

There is no fee to report a food safety concern. We ask that you submit your report within 48 hours of the incident. This allows us to investigate while details are still fresh. Reports submitted after this window will still be reviewed, but our ability to trace the issue may be limited.

Who to contact

Send your report to the Food Services office. Our team reviews every concern and will follow up with you if we need more information. You can expect a response within two business days.
