Overdue charges
You can borrow most books and study materials from the Falls Library & Learning Commons for three weeks. If you need more time, you can renew items online through the myWrenford portal as long as no other student has reserved them. If an item is returned past its due date, you will be charged $0.50 per day for each item. Daily charges stop once the item is brought back to the circulation desk. You cannot borrow new materials or reserve a study room until all overdue fines are cleared.
Replacement and damaged items
If you lose a library book or return one with significant damage, you are responsible for the replacement cost. The fee covers the price of purchasing a new copy plus a processing charge. Replacement fees range from $25 to $175, depending on the item's value and whether a replacement is available. You can pay the replacement cost through the myWrenford portal or at the library circulation desk. If you return a damaged item, staff will assess the condition and inform you of any applicable fee.
Paying your balance
Outstanding fines and replacement fees are added to your student account. You can view your current balance and make a payment online through myWrenford. The library also accepts payment by cheque or credit card at the circulation desk. If you have an unpaid balance, the library places a hold on your account. This hold prevents you from registering for new terms, receiving official transcripts, or picking up items through interlibrary loan until the balance is cleared.
Appealing a fine
If you believe a fine was charged in error, you can request a review. Submit a Library Fine Appeal form to the library director. Include your student ID, the date of the charge, and a brief explanation of why you are asking for a waiver. The library director will review your request and respond within five business days. Approved appeals are processed automatically in myWrenford and the hold is removed.
