Schedule a research consultation

Research consultations

Need help tracking down sources for a paper, assignment, or project? You can book a one-on-one meeting with a subject librarian at Falls Library & Learning Commons. Our Appointment booking for one-on-one reference assistance with a subject librarian for course projects service is designed to save you time and improve your research process. We guide you through finding the right books, articles, and databases, and show you how to organise your references properly.

Who can book

This service is for any Wrenford Polytechnic student currently enrolled in a course that requires research. You do not need to have found your topic yet. We work with students from every school and program. If your assignment asks you to find scholarly articles or industry reports, you are welcome to book a session.

How to schedule your session

Follow these steps to set up your appointment:

  1. Log in to the library portal using your student credentials.
  2. Select the Research Consultations option from the services menu.
  3. Choose a date and time that fits your schedule. Sessions are available Monday through Friday during library hours.
  4. Fill in your course name, instructor, and a brief description of your assignment.
  5. Confirm your booking. You will receive an email confirmation with a link to the virtual meeting room or the room number for in-person visits.

Book at least two business days in advance. Walk-ins are welcome when a librarian is available, but a booking guarantees your spot. If you need to use a specific database or software, mention it when you book so the librarian can prepare.

Cost and deadlines

There is no fee to book a research consultation. We ask that you cancel or reschedule at least twenty-four hours before your appointment so other students can use the time. If you miss a booked session without cancelling, you must wait five business days before booking again. This policy ensures that all students have fair access to the service.
