Who this is for
This guide applies to all students living in residence. Whether you are in a traditional room in Larch House or a four-bedroom suite in Ashgrove House, you can use these steps to get help with repairs, plumbing issues, or broken furniture in your room or shared spaces.
How to submit a work order
Follow these steps to report an issue in your residence room:
- Check the issue. Note whether it is a plumbing leak, a broken desk, a malfunctioning light, or something in a shared space like a kitchen or lounge.
- Log in to myWrenford. Open the Maintenance Request form in the student portal.
- Fill in the details. Enter your building name, room number, and a clear description of the problem. Attach a photo if it helps the tradesperson understand the issue.
- Submit the form. You will receive an automated confirmation email with a ticket number within two business days.
Urgent repairs
Some issues need immediate attention. If you notice a major water leak, a loss of heat in winter, a broken door lock, or an electrical spark, do not wait for the portal. Call the Residence office right away at 519-555-0175. A staff member will contact a tradesperson to come to your building immediately.
What to expect next
Maintenance staff will visit your room during standard business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You must be present to let them in. If you have a class or work during that time, you can arrange a different window with the Residence Life team.
If you cannot be home, you may leave a key in your room or hand it to the front desk. Do not prop doors open for strangers. Small repairs usually take three to five business days to complete. Larger jobs, like replacing a window or fixing a main pipe, may take longer. The team will email you when the work is finished.
Fees and deadlines
There is no fee to submit a work order. However, you are responsible for reporting problems quickly. If you delay reporting a leak or a broken fixture and it causes damage to your room, your belongings, or your roommate's property, you may be charged for the repairs.
You must allow the maintenance team access to your room. If staff visit twice and cannot enter, the work order will be paused until you contact the Residence office to reschedule.
