Award payment schedule

Award payment schedule

This page covers dates when scholarship funds are disbursed and how they appear on the student account. When you are awarded a scholarship or bursary, the money is sent directly to Wrenford Polytechnic. It does not go straight to your personal bank account. The college uses the funds to pay your outstanding educational costs first. Any remaining balance is then sent back to you.

When payments are sent

Scholarship and bursary payments are disbursed on set dates each term. These dates are aligned with the start of the Fall and Winter terms. The Student Financial Aid office releases all payments after your term enrolment is confirmed and any holds on your student account are cleared. You can find the exact disbursement dates for the 2026–27 academic year on the Tuition & Fees page. Payments are never sent before the term begins.

How payments appear on your student account

Every time you log in to myWrenford, you can view your student account in the financial section. The system applies your award money in a specific order:

  • Tuition and mandatory ancillary fees are paid first.
  • Residence and parking fees are paid next.
  • Any remaining balance is sent back to you as a refund.

You can see the exact date a payment was sent and the remaining balance in the Disbursements tab of your myWrenford account. If you do not see a payment on the expected date, check for any active holds. Holds block payments until they are resolved. You can review common holds on the Student Financial Aid page.

Receiving your refund

If your award covers more than what you owe, the leftover money is sent back to you. We strongly recommend setting up direct deposit in myWrenford. If you have direct deposit set up, the leftover money arrives in your bank account within five business days. If you did not set up direct deposit, we mail a paper cheque to the mailing address on file. Paper cheques take about two weeks to arrive by mail. You can update your mailing address in the personal information section of myWrenford.
