Apply for bursaries and scholarships

What bursaries and scholarships are

Both bursaries and scholarships are non-repayable sources of funding that help you cover tuition, books, and living costs. Scholarships usually recognise strong academic results or specific talents. Bursaries are awarded based on your financial need. You can apply for either while you study or when you first start at Wrenford Polytechnic.

Who can apply

Almost every student who registers in a full-time or part-time program can apply. Some awards are open to all students. Others are set aside for students in specific programs, those living in certain regions, or those with particular interests. You must be in good academic standing and registered for classes to receive most awards.

Deadlines and eligibility

Entrance scholarships are announced in May 2027. You are automatically considered for these through the provincial college application service when you apply for full-time study. For in-course bursaries and scholarships, applications open at the start of each term. Check the Scholarships & Bursaries page for the exact dates for Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms. Most in-course bursaries require you to show a current financial situation. Some academic scholarships require a minimum grade point average. Always read the specific criteria before you apply.

How to apply

You will submit most applications through your student portal. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to myWrenford.
  2. Open the Student Financial Aid section and select Award Application.
  3. Complete the required fields and attach any supporting documents.
  4. Review your answers and submit before the deadline.

If you are applying for an entrance scholarship, you do not need to fill out a separate form. The provincial college application service sends your grades directly to the selection committee. For in-course bursaries, you must upload recent tax documents or a financial statement to prove your need.

Important rules to know

External awards may affect provincial student financial assistance or in-house bursaries. You must report any outside funding you receive to the Student Financial Aid office. Paying your tuition on time is required before any award is applied to your account. If you drop classes or fail a course, you may lose your eligibility for the next term.
