Digital media students create campaign for Wrenford tourism board

Students bring Wrenford's story to the screen

Students in the Graphic & Interactive Design program have completed a new video campaign for the City of Wrenford, highlighting the region's parks, historic sites, and cultural landmarks. The project was commissioned by the municipal tourism board as part of a spring visitor outreach initiative.

The campaign features a series of short, vertical-format videos designed for social media platforms. Students handled every stage of production, from storyboarding and scriptwriting to filming on location and post-production editing. The work was shot and edited at the college's Mercer Street Campus, using the Market Square Studios sound stage and editing suites.

Professor Jonah Feldstein, who supervised the course, said the project gave students a chance to work with real-world constraints and client feedback.

"They had to balance creative storytelling with the tourism board's brand guidelines. It was a great lesson in professional communication," Feldstein said.

Learning beyond the classroom

The assignment was part of a senior production course that requires students to deliver a final portfolio piece for an external stakeholder. The tourism board reviewed weekly progress updates and provided notes on tone, pacing, and call-to-action messaging.

The resulting videos showcase the Tamsin River Trail System, the downtown transit terminal, and the heritage buildings along Mercer Street. They will be distributed across the city's social media channels starting next month.

Looking ahead

The college continues to partner with local organisations to provide students with work-integrated learning opportunities. Next term, the Digital Media & Design department will launch a new course focused on motion graphics and visual effects.
