Lot C expands capacity for fall term
Wrenford Polytechnic is increasing the number of parking spaces in Lot C on the Benchlands Campus. The expansion is designed to help residence students find a spot closer to their home.
Lot C sits between the Student Union Building and Larch House. It is the primary parking area for students living in the residence. With more students moving in for the upcoming academic year, the campus needs extra spaces to reduce the number of students driving around looking for a spot.
The work includes adding new painted lines and replacing the signs that mark the lot boundaries. Facilities staff are working through the summer to make sure the new spaces are ready before classes start in September.
Students who live in Larch House or Ashgrove House can apply for a residence parking permit. The permit cost is $210 per term. You must register for a permit through the campus portal before you arrive on site. Permits are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
"We want to make sure residence students have a reliable place to park," says a representative from Campus Security. "Lot C is right outside your door, so it makes sense to keep it full."
Visitors and faculty who do not live on campus must use Lot A, Lot B, or Lot D. Lot A is the visitor lot. You pay by plate at the kiosk. The rate is $3.50 per hour. Lot B is for general staff and visitors. Lot D is overflow parking that opens when the main lots fill up.
Students who live off-campus in the City of Wrenford must use municipal parking. The City of Wrenford runs the downtown lots. You can find more information about off-campus bylaws and municipal parking on the city website.
Construction in Lot C will happen in phases. Some spaces may be unavailable during the day. The campus has posted signs to direct traffic around the work zone. If you see an issue with the new layout, you can email the facilities team at [email protected].
Residence students who need a permit should check the student portal. If you have questions about the cost or the application process, you can call the parking office at 519-555-0170, ext. 4182.
