Larch House residence opens for September term with new study lounges

New spaces for a new term

Larch House residence on the Benchlands Campus is ready for students arriving for the September term. The 420-bed traditional residence hall has received upgrades to its common areas, including two new study lounges designed to give students quiet places to work between classes.

The new lounges are located on the second and third floors, offering separate quiet zones for focused study. Each lounge is equipped with additional power outlets, adjustable task lighting, and comfortable seating options.

Kenji Morimoto, Manager of Residence Life, says the upgrades respond to student feedback from the past year.

"Students told us they needed more dedicated study space that wasn't in their rooms or the library," Morimoto says. "These lounges give them a place to work right where they live, without having to travel across campus."

The study lounges are open to all Larch House residents during standard residence hours. Students can also book the larger meeting rooms in the common area for group projects or study groups through the residence portal.

Larch House offers traditional single and double rooms for a fee of $7,950 per academic year. A meal plan costing $4,600 per year is mandatory for all residents.

Applications for residence opened on February 1, 2027. Students who have been accepted to the September 2026 term can already access the portal to complete their move-in checklists and room assignment confirmations.

The Benchlands Campus is located at 1500 Benchlands Drive, Wrenford, ON N4Q 2B1. Wrenford Transit routes 3 and 7 stop at the Hollis Hall loop, which is a short walk from Larch House.
