Emma publishes research on renewable energy systems

Student presents findings on solar efficiency

Emma, a student in the Renewable Energy Systems graduate certificate program, has published her latest research on solar energy efficiency. Her work was recently presented at the provincial college energy conference, where she shared her findings with peers and industry professionals.

Emma's project focused on optimizing solar panel performance in variable weather conditions. By analyzing data from the campus solar array, she developed a model that helps predict energy output more accurately throughout the year. This research could help institutions and businesses better plan their renewable energy investments.

The study was conducted under the guidance of faculty members in the Power & Process Engineering department. Emma worked in the Escarpment Building labs, using equipment from the School of Energy & Applied Engineering to test different panel configurations and tracking systems.

"I was thrilled to share my work with such an engaged audience," Emma said. "The feedback I received helped me refine my model and think about how this research could apply to larger commercial projects."

Her research aligns with the college's broader commitment to applied research that supports the transition to clean energy. The Renewable Energy Systems program, located on the Benchlands Campus, emphasizes hands-on learning and real-world problem solving.
