Program Description

Principles of operation, performance characteristics, and maintenance of compressors, fans, and turbines.

Course overview

This course covers the principles of operation, performance characteristics, and maintenance of compressors, fans, and turbines. You will examine the thermodynamic cycles that drive these machines and learn how to analyse their performance in industrial settings.

Through a mix of lectures and laboratory sessions, you will explore the design and selection of turbomachinery for power generation and process industries. The course builds on the fluid mechanics and thermodynamics you studied in earlier terms.
