Integration of IoT, data analytics, and cyber-physical systems in modern factories.
About this course
Smart manufacturing combines physical production with digital technology. In this course, you will explore how sensors, data networks, and computing systems work together to create efficient, flexible factories. You will learn how to monitor equipment in real time, analyze production data, and use that information to improve quality and reduce downtime.
The course focuses on practical skills. You will work with simulated factory environments to configure data collection systems and interpret analytics dashboards. You will also study the security and integration challenges that come with connecting machines to the internet.
Who takes this course
This course is an elective for students in the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. It is also open to students in Manufacturing Engineering Technician and Bachelor of Applied Technology — Advanced Manufacturing who have completed their required prerequisites.
Credits: 3 · Hours: 45
