Program Description

Analysis of forces in rigid bodies at equilibrium, covering free-body diagrams and structural systems.

Course overview

Engineering Mechanics Statics introduces the fundamental principles of equilibrium and force analysis. You will learn how to model physical systems, draw accurate free-body diagrams, and solve for unknown forces in rigid bodies. The course bridges the gap between theoretical mathematics and practical engineering applications, preparing you for advanced design courses.

Topics include vector mechanics, equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies, structural analysis of trusses and frames, friction, and the calculation of centroids and moments of inertia. You will apply these concepts to real-world scenarios typical of manufacturing and mechanical engineering environments.
